Do you have an enthusiastic teen in your kitchen, always baking and helping out with preparing dinner. This course is specifically designed for teens between 13 - 17 who are interested in spending time in the kitchen.
We will do some exciting techniques and recipes with them that they can take away and use again and again. They will learn how to cook a number of their favourite dishes from scratch, understanding the ingredients and processes that go into the foods they love.
With the superb ratio of one of our experienced teachers for every eight students, they are carefully guided through their hands-on culinary adventure.
They will spend a busy morning cooking, before enjoying a lunch of what they’ve made. Then it’s off outside to feed the scraps to the hens and see the vegetables growing in the glasshouses.
This is an action-packed morning of delicious learning and fun.
Ballymaloe Cookery School Subsidises the cost of this course to enable as wide a group of students as possible.
The prestigious Ballymaloe 12 WeekCertificate Course is run three times a year, with courses beginning in January,April or May, and September.
The course is aimed at anyone with a passionate interest in food. Many of our students use the course as a springboard to become a professional chef; others use it to equip themselves with a marketable skill.
Others still take the course simply to maximize the pleasure they get from cooking at home.
Students develop a deep and detailed understanding of food and how it is produced. The emphasis is on recognising the best ingredients and knowing how to showcase them.
