One of the most popular activities for guests to Ballymaloe Cookery School is our Garden Tour. We are fortunate to be surrounded here at the Cookery School by some of the most beautiful gardens in County Cork. With each of the different gardens having its own unique atmosphere and history, our Garden Tour is highly recommended as a wonderful way to learn about the evolution of these gardens over the years, particularly after Tim and Darina Allen moved to Kinoith as a young couple.
What better way to learn about the wide variety of plants, flowers and vegetables than to have one of our knowledgeable tour guides point them out and describe them to you. Depending on how much time you have, our tour can last from 45 to 90 minutes and is peppered with information about the concepts involved in the various garden designs, their key features and what is planned for them in the future. Weather and time permitting, our tour will take in visits to each of our gardens, including part of the farm.
A guide will be provided free of charge for groups of more than 15 people with an admission price of €7.50 pp. (Concessions do not apply to tours.)
We charge €20 for a guide for groups of 15 people or less. We have a minimum charge of €60 for very small groups.
